Responsibilities

This role focuses on supporting financial planning & analysis (FP&A), treasury management, business acquisitions, automation initiatives, and process/reporting improvements. The position also includes budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, MD&A preparation, and various ad hoc tasks.

Key Responsibilities :

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports by compiling, validating, and organizing performance data from multiple sources.
  • Assist in building and maintaining financial models used for forecasting, scenario analysis, and decision support.
  • Provide supporting analysis for management presentations and internal reviews by summarizing financial trends and variances.
  • Maintain financial data accuracy by reconciling inputs, updating assumptions, and ensuring consistency across reports.

Treasury & Liquidity Management

  • Assist in weekly cash position monitoring, ensuring balances are aligned with operational funding requirements.
  • Support the preparation of short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts and highlight variances to expected liquidity positions.
  • Collect and compile bank transaction data to support reconciliations and treasury reporting.
  • Provide data and documentation for treasury compliance, banking relationships, and internal policy adherence.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Gather and document reporting requirements from finance and business teams to enhance reporting accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist in the design and maintenance of dashboards and reporting templates using Excel, Power BI, or other tools.
  • Identify recurring manual tasks and support automation initiatives to reduce processing time and errors.
  • Test and validate new reporting processes or system functionalities before deployment.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Variance Analysis

  • Support the annual budget process by gathering data, updating templates, and ensuring inputs are complete and accurate.
  • Assist in preparing specific forecasts as required, incorporating updated assumptions and business inputs.
  • Collaborate with subsidiaries to collect and validate information for variance analysis. Prepare supporting data and commentary for the MD&A.

Ad Hoc & Cross-Functional Support

  • Perform financial data analysis for one-off projects, such as cost-benefit assessments, trend analysis, or profitability studies.
  • Collaborate with other teams to provide finance-related insights that inform operational and strategic decisions.
  • Respond to requests for financial data or analysis from senior management and other stakeholders in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • CPA designation, CFA charter, or Master’s degree in Finance (or equivalent qualification);
  • 4 to 7 years of relevant experience;
  • Strong proficiency in Excel;
  • Key qualities : excellent analytical skills, curiosity, resourcefulness, initiative, and a strong solution-oriented mindset;
  • Bilingualism (essential).
